Perkins always has some of the friendliest front-of-house staff in Sioux Falls. They are personable and seem perfectly willing to go out of their way for special requests. My 4 year old loves the creative menu items for kids: the French toast stack; the prickly bear pancakes; but her favorite, by far, is the rainbow pancakes. Here comes my sole complaint. Over the years, the adult portions have become smaller and smaller. My go-to dish at Perkins is a ham and cheese omelet. The omelet I received today was the smallest "3 egg omelet" I have ever been served anywhere. It wouldn't be so bad if the prices had remained unchanged over the years. As it is, I can go a competitor a mile down the street and for 50 cents more, have an omelet that is at least twice as big. Another reviewer got it right, "You know what you get when you go to Perkins". And knowing what you get will be a factor when we decide where to dine in the future. Thank you Perkins for your excellent service over the years. We'll continue to dine with you occasionally knowing we'll get what we get. I sincerely hope that I'll be surprised during a subsequent visit and find that your portion sizes are more in-line with your prices.

Worst. We went after a long day of traveling across S.D. My one year old needed dinner and bed. We ordered soups, salads (w/no meat), a deli sandwich, and chicken fingers with fries. It took the waiter 10 minutes to bring water. I asked at the time of placing the order for crackers - never came. Baby screamed for food - no waiter, no crackers. After 35-40 minutes our food came: the soup was cold as were my son's fries. We never did get our pie (which had been ordered with the meal). We were one of only 4 tables in the entire restaurant.

I've been going to Perkins in various cities for 20 years, & we've always gotten our food before I finish my first cup of coffee. We waited 40 minutes after placing an order for two people at lunch, & our waitress never checked on us once. We finally had to leave as my husband had to be back to work. The hostess was very nice about it, but when my husband tried to speak to the manager, he was simply given the excuse they "have new cooks", & then, that they were busy (which, compared to when I've been to Perkins in Lincoln or Omaha, they weren't. Understaffed for lunch, but plenty of empty tables). My husband works at a hospital & this was the first time he had additional time at lunch so we could eat together in two years. We chose Perkins because we've never had problems before, even with long waits on Sunday morning. But the management of this particular restaurant is utterly incompetent.

I don't know if it's because we were there so late at night, or if the service is always that horrible. We asked for an extra plate, it was forgotten, we ordered pie, that too was forgotten, No water refills, no coffee refills. Not only was the service non existent, but the food was not even very tasty. We ordered a sampler plate with mozzarella sticks, which were hardly warm. The only thing semi-okay were the onion rings. Oh-and they don't offer flavored creamer so make sure to bring your own.

Ate here on a Tuesday night. Our waiter was the only one working but he was sooo helpful and friendly. The food was good for the price.

Perkins is a typical "chain" Food is good, and service is good. One thing that sets it apart is the pancakes. They are the best anywhere.

visited on a sunday morning. very busy but seated quickly.service was great and spot on. food perfect temp and tasty. highly recommend. Tim the manager stopped by to check on us even though the place was jam packed. great personal customer service.
